Is it ever okay to question postage costs?

Specifically the postage cost being charged to send a USB from the U.S. to Australia is listed as $37 (more than the cost of the item), can I query this cost without offending the seller, and if so, how do I do so politely. Thanks for any advice.

Many US sellers have been opted in by default to the GSP and are not aware.

The GSP is a forwading service provided by Pitney Bowes and is expensive.

I have in the past informed sellers that their GSP rate showing is too expensive and are they prepared to send it USPS, and if so to let me know of the price to my postcode.
