does Australia post handle global tracking item (with a upaa number)

hi,

just wanted to ask about the global shipping programme that ebay provides.i just wanted to know who wll be the last to handle my item once it arrives through aus customs as i don't want to rely of couriers like DHL to deliver my item. i bought an item which has a global tracking upaa number and was described to be handled by non-specific multiple carriers. what does that mean?? would it still go through auspost once it arrives in aus?? just wanted to know so i knowthat i will still be able to pick it up if ever i was not at home when the item was delivered.cheers

I have had 2 small items recently sent from the USA by the GSP.

The first one showed as sitting in the FedEx facility at Mascot for nearly 3 weeks...I received a phone call from FedEx to confirm my address as they had sent it by Australia Post who said my address was incorrect and they could not deliver it.

The second one was handed to AP by FedEx and was sent as an AP eParcel.

It appears that smaller items are handed to Australia Post while FedEx deliver the larger ones themselves.
