500g Parcel Post Satchel

Is anyone have the trouble to send the parcel with old 500g Parcel Post bag which actual weight is over 500g?

Today I went to a Post office near our house, and the staff rejects my parcel because the weight is 1.2kg. I had to drive to another Post office to lodge this parcel.

I told her as AUS POST website announce:
You can use our old satchels to get the new postage flat rates so long as your item is 5kgs or under. For example, the previous 500g satchel will be treated as a Small, the 1kg satchel will be treated as a Medium, the 3kg satchel will be treated as a Large and the 5kg satchel will treated as an Extra Large.

Is this my misunderstanding to send the parcel over 500g?

In the meantime, take the trouble to file a report to Aust Post -  using their contact form.    Otherwise the PO in question will continue to get it wrong.

You're right - If it packs, it posts.

Sounds like the PO near you needs re-training.

I would point out that website to them.

Try not to look smug whilst doing just that.

AP staff member probably hasn't read the new rules yet.

No lodgement receipt and possibly no tracking before delivery.

The only one I sent before my LPO read the rules, took the full 6 working days to get from Canberra to Hobart. I opened a case on Sunday evening with AP, and on Tuesday it was scanned onboard and delivered. They were the only scans. Nothing at Fyshwick, nothing at Chullora (presumably), nothing at Sunshine West, nothing at the Hobart sorting facility.

Too many people are waiting to be served; otherwise, I will show her the website.

I will do next time, thanks.

The red mailbox hole is too small and I need the receipt.
