I'm trying to list some items but when I press submit it comes up with

Oops, it looks like you missed something. Please fix a problem where you see a highlighted field below.

And point to the decription section where the shaded instructions are.

Can someone please help as i really need to list things and can't, what am I doing wrong??

i dont know if this link may give you answers http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/item-description.html but ebay has made some changes of what can & cant be used in discriptions.

What are you trying to list, and in what condition? That can often be the cause of this problem as some items can only be listed if they are brand new (eg swimwear).

Just re-read your OP - do you mean you can't write in the description field? And if so, are you using Internet Explorer?

There is a compatibility issue with eBay and the latest update of IE, but you can fix that by going to your Compatibility settings in IE and adding eBay, or switching to another browser like Chrome or Firefox.
