Ebay cannot connect to paypal - is anyone else getting this message?

I've been trying to pay my ebay account via paypal for a couple of days.  A message on the payment page says Ebay cannot connect to Paypal atm, try again later.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I paid using my paypal balance this morning. The first time I tried the circle thingy just kept going round and round. I tried again and clicked the bit to accept cookies and it took me to paypal that time. They had a new page for paying by paypal so maybe there's a problem with it.

Looks slightly different atm - I usally elect how much I wish to pay, now it states what is owing plus cannot get to pay it anyway. Strange, ebay are fiddlin'again OR are they making it hard because they (ebay) will be introducing their own payment preference in future????

You can change the bottom figure, the amount you elect to pay. It's not obvious that you can do it but I changed it on mine.

I paid mine on Sunday without any problems.

I am still trying, give up, they can take it out of my bank, the way I set it up years ago. 

I normally pay with PP though.

I have just used paypal to pay my Water Rates with no problems at all.

Have you done the obvious?

Clear cache and cookies, reboot?

It is not an eBay problem, per se, as some of us don't have any issues.
