I think the problem occurred because it's quite obvious that English is not the OP's native language.

Re: Ebay protect me from this buyer!

after my public humiliation let's see if we have some good lessons of it.

1.I was 100% honest as I paid for for 19 letters and I send 30! (brfore the dispute)

2. I failed totaly to understand what the buyer wanted from me,  I can find 4-5 reasons for my weakness to understand but all those are not enough to cover my failure to understand the buyer.

My experiences until now were that the buyers who asked me for 1B, 3S, 2DR etc was for units or shop sections etc and always I had to include the numbers infron of the letters. buyers who wanted the letters for words as PRIVATE PROPERTY  theY wrote PRIVATE PROPERTY  and not 1P, 2 R etc. Even when the buyer opened a disputed  with me even then I did not understand what realy the buyer wanted from me!

MY MISTAKE! I HAVE TO SEE OUT OF THE CYRCLE TOO.

The truth is that the buyer was not very helpful too.

1. I have   listings for vinyl letters of various colours, including white. The buer wanted white but bought black and left a note for white letters.

2. She could write the words she wanted  for example '"PRIVATE PROPERTY " which is much easier than 1 P, 2R, etc and much easier for me to know what she wants, PLUS 0% risk for misunderstanding and with this way it was easier for her to stick them and easier for me to cut them.

3. The buyer knew that I am honest because she paid for 19 and received 30 letters! she should write to me and expail to me what was wrong , she opened dispute whithout to contact me.

4. Even when she opened the dispute she could explain to me what was the problem but she did not only when I wrote this on forum only then I learn what she wanted.

5. When she opened the dispute she should write the whole truth SHE DID NOT RECEIVE 13 LETTERS BUT 30! independent if she wanted  other letters.  it is very different to say I paid for 19 letters and received 13 and different that i paid for 19 letters and I received 30,  missunderstanding is one thing and the other different thing!

It is seemed that independent from buyers or sellers intensions we make mistakes HE HELL IS FULL OF SOULS WITH GOOD INTENSIONS!

IF WE LEARN TO TRUST  EACH OTHER AND COMUNICATE BEFORE WE OPEN A DISPUTE IS A GOOD WAY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS BUT NOT ALWAYS EASY!

I had, and I am not the only one, bad experienses from buyers or sellers  on ebay or online, which costed to me 1000s of dollars and not easy to keep my mind  far from bad thoughts when something goes wrong or I can not explain.

For example I bought a "professional machines" which was  anything else ecxept from proffesional, or .or... etc.

I had a buyer who said me that my computer card destroyed his computer, and other devices, who had a report from specialist (, fake or thrue I do not know) who wanted from me $5.000 and at the end I found my card was ok and all he said was  lies.

Unftunately the internet is full of crooks and makes the comunication between seller- buyers not easy!

Costed you 1000s of dollars plus you think the internet is full of crooks..Why do it then?  Maybe selling on the internet is NOT for you ?

Re: Ebay protect me from this buyer!

The Numbers are as Follows

2 x AS      3  etc...

So he supplied 2 x A  & 1 S      3

I think he supplied the 'S's instead of realising it was a plural.

Love your monkey

The Seller misread the order.

When he saw '3Rs' he did not read 3 x the letter R. He read 'the buyer wants one number 3, one letter R and one letter s'

So he sent a bunch of numbers and s's instead of the multiples of certain letters requested.

please do not read this post as being critical as I am just trying to help you understand why the buyer may have written their order the way they did.  I have taken a screen grab of the listing description to help show something here

Your buyer may have been confused by the way the red circled bit reads i.e. you buy letters/numbers not words or text

You might need to rewrite your description.  Maybe give some examples like in your post.

Please do not be put off by your experience here on the boards.  In the end it did help you to get to the bottom of what your buyer wanted.  If you ever have a question but do not want to start a public thread about it you can send a personal message to a poster to ask for help or advice.

To send a personal message you click the user ID on any post of the member you want to message

When their details page loads you click the link over to the right that says "Send this user a personal message" and then it it just like email between members.  I have sent you a message so you can see how it works.  To reply to a message just hit the 'reply' button on the message.

I wish you well with your selling in 2015

All things considered, I can understand why you misunderstood the buyer's order, but there is a relatively fail-safe way to guarantee a similar mistake is not made in the future - it will also help make sure the buyer hasn't misunderstood the listing, and that is to repeat the order back to them via message, but written in the way you understood it, in order to confirm that's what they wanted.

I recently had a order for several of an item that I customise with individual letters, and the buyer and I sent several messages back and forth to determine exactly what they wanted, because some were just with one letter, and others required further modification to the component I was using, plus there were two ways I could orient the letter, so as well as being able to choose from 26 letters, there were other individual options.

So, the buyer's request was spread out over a few messages. I sent a message that listed everything she had requested as I understood it, and asked her to confirm that this was correct before I started the work.

If I use this case as an example, and the buyer says "I want 2A", you could reply with something like, "just to confirm, you would like 2 of the letter A in white vinyl...".

It's been confirmed. I will not be setting  up on eBay selling vinyl lettering.

Re: Ebay protect me from this buyer!

Item ( letter or number) - Colour. - Quantity
R - White - 2

Use a format/table as above when communicating with buyers if they are querying their order. That way both of you will be on the same wave length.

Sorry, couldn't get them to line up
