I've just cancelled a sale & refunded. Ebay will give me a credit - but what does this really mean. Does it mean if I never sell another item I never get back the $10?
Thanks

Thanks for that - Why can't they just refund? If you have lost money from refunding a non pickuping buyer (no fault of the seller) you should get the actual money back!

It'd probably be easier for a lot of people if the funds were automatically refunded, but (and as much as it pains me to say it) I dare say it'd be more trouble that it's worth for eBay, mostly because the fees charged aren't always paid for when they're reversed due to NPB's, plus people use a wide variety of payment methods. With what would probably be a relatively high volume of reversals on a daily basis, they'd have to work out what fees have been paid for, and how, then issue individual refunds.

There is also the issue that if you haven't actually paid your monthly invoice that the fee was charged on then by eBay crediting the fee it just basically cancels out the original fee, thus meaning when your invoice is generated the amount due will be $0.00. On the other hand, if you have paid the fee already you can request an actual refund.
