New Zealand now charging GST on all low value ebay purchases.

Just had a NZ buyer complaining he was charged GST on a purchase at the checkout. Once I did a search I found the New Zealand government have basically copied Australias policy regards GST on ebay purchases. Starting today, 1/12/2019 all low value sales into NZ will be charged GST. Worth keeping in mind if you sell to NZ.

from memory the GST rate in NZ is 15%

This is the message I get in the sales record for NZ customers now:

**Total includes eBay collected tax. The New Zealand Government imposes GST on taxable imports. We'll automatically deduct this amount from you via PayPal and remit it to the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department.

So basically works the same as USA state taxes.
