Hi there,
can anyone help? I can’t get any response from ebay.
I sold and item.
The buyer wanted a refund. Starting the item was old and not new. When the listing did not say new. But in the message the buyer claimed it was damaged. I accepted the return and sent them a return shipping label.
I asked the buyer to send it back for a full refund.
The day after the buyer said they gave it to the jeweller for repair.
I asked them to send it back as received.
The buyer raised a payment dispute.
I refunded the full amount before I got the item back. Which is my mistake.
The buyer won’t respond to communication.
ebay has closed the case.
Now I don’t have the item or the money.
What do I do next? How can I take regal action.

You have no recourse through eBay. You ought to have refunded only on receiving the item, as stated in the MBG help page.
You could send a letter of demand. Tailor this sample (link below) to your situation, keeping it professional.
