Hello! I haven't sold anything on eBay for aaaaages, but mum wants me to sell some of her books.
I logged into my eBay AU account, clicked on Sell / List an item, started filling everything out... but when it gets to Shipping Details, everything is US-centric. It's only got FedEx or UPS services. Package weight is only in inches. Weight is only in lbs/oz. As
It's recognised my item location where I am (Brisbane Qld), so why is it doing this?! I can't list the item without getting errors (shipping options, weight, etc).
HELP! What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure the URL shows .com.au and not just .com on the selling page?
(As an aside, before you do list anything for sale, have you completed everything required to sign up for Managed Payments?) Because that is very important

Sounds like you're logged into ebay.com - the US site
Add the .au to the end of it

Thank you for the quick response - I'll double double check again, as I had checked that.

Erk - no, I've not heard/read of the Managed Payments bit. Thank you for the heads up - I'll google that now!

Aww man... it used to be so simple with PayPal, but now I have to provide identification and bank details to eBay etc??! Can't it just be PayPal?

Paypal also requires customer identification, (sooner or later) and would also ask for the same identifying documents.
Many people have their bank details store in Ebay anyway for buyers who want to pay by bank transfer.
When and if you sign up, just make sure that your documents and Ebay details (full name etc) all match exactly.
Otherwise you could try Facebook Marketplace for free.

Thanks JellyBird - these books are quite specialist/technical, otherwise I would use Facebook Marketplace. I may just have to suck it up! Thank you.
