Why cant I edit to correct postage weight once bids placed

I found that 4 current auctions that I had meant to code as weighing 4 to 500grams, has been coded as 1.4 to 1.5kgs. I think I must have left the kg field blank & ebay ever so helpfully coded a 1 in there. One auction had no bids, no doubt due to the highly inflated postage cost. I was able to edit and fix the weight for that one, but 3 others that have bids, I cant seem to edit the weight.

Once there are bids very little can be revised in a listing.

You can add to the description provided there are more than 12 hours left.

I'm in Melb and I see

15.05

7.45

7.45

7.45

15.05

16.15

7.45

for postage costs going from endest soonest in your listings.

If postage turns out cheaper you can part refund difference and if dearer, you might just need to wear a loss of a few dollars.

If there is only one bidder on each item that the postage is wrong, you could always send them a message saying the postage cost is too high and to wait for an invoice after winning so the postage can be reduced. If there's more than one bidder, watch the auctions finish and immediately send an invoice to the winning bidder with the revised cost.
