Check the fees for sales of vehicles. You might find there is a fixed fee. I'd suggest reading up on fees and rules before listing anything else for sale. They are all listed for each category.

$68 seems to be correct as per ebay's fee's table

http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/fees.html#basic

$8 to list and $60 final value fee

I agree, it is important people read about fees and other matters before deciding to use ebay

You sold it for $16.50 and in the category of Collector's Cars.

You did not put in the title that it was for parts only, and it should probably been

put in another category.

Perhaps you should have done more research into the best category, and what the ebay fees were.

And a reserve may have helped

Things to note about Motors fees:
  • If you're setting a reserve for your vehicle, the reserve price fee is charged when you create your listing. If your vehicle is sold (i.e. the reserve price is met), the fee will be credited back to your account and you'll pay a final value fee instead.

Sorry to state the obvious but, pay the bill.

I find it "absolutely ridiculous" that someone would engage in a service without finding out what the costs are !

Besides, I would have started the auction at 200 minimum if not using a reserve.

These LR's are sought after. Even rusted out ones can fetch over 1,000.

$16.50. They would have got at least 10 times that at the scrap yard.

Starting the auction at $1, and no reserve, was ridiculous to say the least.

It would've been less hassle to call in a scrap metal dealer  IMO

But Kopes is right.  The ebay bill has to be paid.

The bodies are aluminium so not prone to rust. The chassis is still made of steel though.
