what do you do if a purchaser does not pay, and does not respond to inquiries?

What do you do if a purchaser does not pay, and then does not answer inquiries from the seller as to why?  Could be he has had a computer crash, is ill, or other reasons, but what is a reasonable period for a seller to be patient, because ebay fees of 10% are charged and the seller is left with these fees despite not having received the money.  Can someone please what to do.

If you've had no response from the buyer you can open an Unpaid Item case on day 4 after the sale. eBay sends a notification to the buyer and they have 4 days to make payment. If no payment is received you can then close the case and your Final Value Fees will be refunded to your account.
