No we can't. Only other members here.

I would guess it might have something to do with lifting of COVID restrictions, click frenzy, lowering of government subsidies, Christmas approaching, or a combination of the above.

My sales have dropped back to pre-COVID levels after being 300% above for several months. I expected it, and it is difficult for me to source stock so my listing levels are also lower.

You have had far more than one sale a week under your completed listings

And more than a great many sellers here have had/are having

Likely buyers are not buying as many 'fun' items due to Covid related loss of income

But they only had 1 sale last week.

And 30 yesterday.

And 17 in October.

Maybe maths is not their strong suit. Or they're advertising.

I,m finding the opposite at the moment. The country seems to be awash with cheap stock as people are finding money tight and selling off collections they have had stashed away for years. I cant list it quick enough and its starting to build up with more offers of stock coming every week.. Its actually a bit of a worry as I have regular suppliers that I have to keep buying from but i,m getting swamped with stuff.

regardless of what many say, ebay as a venue is shrinking due to the explosion of many other venues for selling online, be it businesses own websites, Instagram or Facebook marketplace.

Ebay was once the "king of the hill" - it is now one of many in a crowded marketplace (and also one of the most expensive venues to sell) - currently Instagram and Facebook marketplace take 0% final value fee - ebays is nearly 15% - thats a big cut of a sale price for a venue boasting lower prices!

Our sales have dived this week and I suspect it more to do with the borders falling and locked down people desperate to get away for a break and starting to travel instead. Not to mention socialising expenditure as bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants re-open, especially in Victoria.

@South.coffee - I tend to agree.

My sales the last few days have been sporadic in comparison to what I consider "normal" for my shop.

Last month was one of my best so far this year, whereas November has been pretty choppy, especially the last few days.

I don't know that it is so much people desperate to get away. The only people I know of who got away went camping. Most of us in Melbourne are still at home, just able to travel a bit further now, that's all. What that means is getting out to visit friends and as you say, maybe visiting a cafe for a catch up or whatever.

I think probably the biggest change is the shops are now open. Just the normal, everyday sorts of shops that sell clothing and gifts.

This year, I have had to buy almost every single gift online but now I have options and so have other Victorians.

I would imagine ebay sales will depend a lot on what people are selling as within the next few weeks, people's thoughts will be with Christmas shopping.

A lot of people also had accommodation booking deposits for Easter which got put on credit with venues due to the pandemic.  Now the accommodation bookings have reopened we are seeing a big jump in prices as the venues try to make up for lost income during the pandemic and they know there is going to be strong demand, so people will be spending more than usual on going away.

Hopefully this spike will calm down by mid-2021 or something after new year and next Easter long weekend.
