I'm waiting on stock for an item which I have sold via my ebay store. The order now says postage overdue. I'm in communication with the buyer who is happy with a short wait. Will this affect my eBay rating?

Not really - you can get a late shipment if the item arrives after the original ETA eBay gave the buyer, but one will have very little effect on an account.

The things that will affect your account is if you cancel order for no stock reason or no responding to disputes which customer later escalated.

I don't know why you are selling items without having them in stock though. Unless its for cashflow I understand
