I am new to Ebay and bought my very first item a month ago now. I have been checking my tracking details and the item is still in transit. But last monday i received an empty yellow envelope..What should i do ??? Wait for the est time to expire.

Contact the seller and send them a copy of the JPG and ask them if it was from them, explain the situation.
It can easily take a month for purchases to arrive so the timeframe is about right.
If the seller ignores your message open an Item Not Received case with eBay.
Tracking can often be hit or miss, I've received items that according to tracking are still in transit.
