some weeks ago there was discussion here about an "outside website" where member buying history could be looked up.
I am in no way wanting to re-start the sometimes heated discussion surrounding the use of that website, but want to let members know that you can have your buying history suppressed on that site.
It is hard to post this information without saying the name of the website, which would probably get that same old protagonists going at eachother again. So, I have uploaded a screengrab I just took from that site that details how to "opt-out" of your eBay ID being able to be searched. I will edit this post so that the image will no longer be visible on this post, but will be visible if you look at my member profile and click on my images. I will make all other images there private so that there is only one image to view.
Follow the instructions on the screengrab and your buying history will not be searchable on that outside website. Takes a little while for the request to be processed, but that should be expected. For anyone who is holding off posting because you don't want your buying history looked into you can now suppress your buying activity search results and then post here knowing that members can not search your buying habits/history on that site.
I ask that members not use this thread to start up the old arguments. Thank you.
edit: image now removed BUT still viewable through my profile public image album.

At least some ATTEMPT to help OPs.
Some just sit on the sidelines and never provide any help, nor ask nor answer questions, only posting on the boards in attempts at (usually unsuccessful) character assassination.

Yes you have the highlighted piece of your quote correct, you never asked for an explanation but you deserve one this time.
I never provide any help because of the simple fact that there are so many, know it alls, already passing on information that is sometimes good and at other times it could be called mis-information, then there's the ones who can't help an OP and are so far up themselves that they think they're expected to respond and then post information to the effect that they can't help...? just crazy!
I never ask questions, although I did at one time and had to deal with sarcasm, rudeness and gifs that jump around and wave as well as remarks that had nothing to do with the q I was asking. Why would I come back for more? Now I get my amusement from reading the same tacky stuff delivered to other posters who are either complacent and suck it up with-out a murmur or give as good as they get - either way I find it amusing that such people exist but only for a short while.
Character assassination has nothing to do with why I post - some ids, very successfully, do it to themselves with-out any help from me.
The next time your typing up a response to an un-suspecting OP just pause for a minute and know that I am going to read your response and get some sort of amusement from reading it, as I have done, quite often, in the past. Your a legend.

Nice of you to notice me tippy - I thought I was keeping my head down.

skyrider, nice to see you back on these boards.
I too don't mind that buying history is now hidden through the site shutting down that search capability. That's why I started this thread last year, to let members know that they can have their buying history hidden.
Time will tell if this place is better off without posters having access to watchcount buying history. I say this because it will be better off without members having their buying history divulged in a public forum without consent, but I don't think it will be better off when members ask for help without giving enough details to enable accurate help to be given. I think a lot of threads will stall when members ask OP's to provide more details so that help can be given and OPs stay away for a while which will push their thread down the list on off the first page of topics.

Funny.. I was just talking about you, and here you are what a coincidence

Thank you for your endorsement.
At least people remember me. And I post facts. Whether the OP likes them or not is not my problem. A lot seem to want validation rather than answers. Or ask the same questions on a multitude of threads, even after being directed to the relevant parts of the SITE MAP.

I counted 14 threads on the first page this arvo
Is that a record?

It would have to be close.
And one never surpassed, hopefully.
