MAKE *AUSTRALIA ONLY* A DEFAULT SEARCH OPTION

The title speaks for itself. Enough said, peace.

Re: MAKE *AUSTRALIA ONLY* A DEFAULT SEARCH OPTION

It's a real shame that the "filter" does not filter out sellers who are NOT located in Aus. Apart from wanting to receive items quickly, I prefer to support Australian sellers, so by default have item location set (and locked) to Aus. Despite this, search results still include sellers registered in, say, China (which can only be seen by going into their profile). You can end up waiting weeks for something that should take a couple of days.

Don't buy if the 'estimated delivery date' shows weeks away

Yes, sellers who are registered in China will show if

a)they have a warehouse here that items are shipped from

b)they just flat out lie that items are located here when they are'nt

Easily avoided issues by looking at a seller's feedback before buying

It's not up to eBay to do everything for buyers, especially when all the information you could ever need is right there

Obviously not too important if reading readback is 'too much effort'

Thanks for your helpful reply.

Not asking for ebay "to do everything"; it would just be nice if their filters actually worked. If they want to make a seamless and user-friendly experience, they would listen to feedback.

It's not just items that are located in Australia. It also includes sellers who only post TO Australia. So, seller onehunglo in China, states that they only post to Australia. If they include postage to the US, the listing won't show up under Australia Only. That's why Chinese sellers (and other countries too) will have 20 different listings for the same item. Each one only showing postage to a certain location. They learned very quickly how to get around the filters.

Seriously, it's not that hard to click on a seller's feedback to see where they are located. Also, if an item looks really cheap, then chances are it is, and it's coming from overseas.

Re: MAKE *AUSTRALIA ONLY* A DEFAULT SEARCH OPTION

If a seller is going to be dishonest, they will find a way to do so no matter how many filters are given

Filters are'nt going to stop dodgy sellers lying about where items are located

They are not going to stop dodgy sellers in Australia dropshipping from overseas without declaring they do so

And they're not going to stop any other tricks dodgy sellers have up their sleeves for being dodgy

By all means send eBay your feedback

But don't think they will 'do' anything

As said, all the information to make good buying choices is already shown
