Returned Item

I have returned an item for refund and have been asked to close case before refund can be issued.

I cannot find any refference to Resolution Centre or close case link in ebay.

Not sure what my next steps should be,

Do not close the case

 

There is nothing stopping them refunding you now, other than they don't want to

 

If the seller does not refund you, escalate the case (get eBay to step in)

 

The seller wants you to close the case because they know you cannot reopen one once you do

 

Is this the seller with the rubbish feedback (all the negs for not sending things, sending broken things and threatening to blackmail a buyer?

I hope that you returned the item with the seller having paid for the return postage (either with a postage label or through some other means).

 

 

It is a CAUL that a buyer needs to close a case in order for the seller to refund. (CAUL = complete and utter lie.)

Seller has 99% positiuve feedback, so far comunications have been excellent.

They were very quick to respond with postage docket for return of item, and have received part.

I'm still in email contact and will await reply.

The fact they have asked you to 'close the case before a refund can be issued' rings alarms bells

 

Up to you, but the fact they have asked you to do it is a big, red flag

Only communicate through the case.

 

No back and forth with the seller outside the case

 

Ebay need to know how they're responding.

As already said in this thread and in many other threads on this board, do NOT close the case under any circumstances. The seller knows closed cases cannot be reopened, and if you close the case he or she will just ignore you.

Don't do it. Don't even think about doing it. Not even remotely.

You've seen all the warnings in this thread. 

Have a think about it.

The seller issued a return label, so they now have the goods AND your money.

 

The issue hasn't been settled until you get your money back. So don't close the case, ever, with any seller, before everything has been finalised, and that doesn't matter how 'nice' they may seem in messages.
