NANNA'S Frozen Berries. Hepatitis A contamination.

I don't buyy frozen berries, but hundreds of people do. In this warm weather smoothies with berries are a favourite.

Here is the warning. Hope the link works.

Yeah, if you can get them all year round, it's the way to go.

But....that's the idea of freezing them

Then you can get them all year round - from your freezer,   lol

True, but I don't like to keep things frozen for more than 3 months and you prob don't either, they turn a little dry and lose flavour.

Tas are the strawberries sweet? I find the berries at the beginning of the season very sweet then become tasteless late in the season.

Probably depends where they come from more than anything.

Yes Kopes, they are lovely and sweet and usually picked that morning down at the strawberry farm.

We took to vacuum sealing them in double portions last year and found that they have lasted from one season to the next in the freezer that way, not losing any of their sweetness and retaining their colour.

Defrosting is started in the morning in a glass bowl, and we tend to be a little ambitious by pouring a nice shot of liqueur on top to marinate them.

Come dinner time, fantastic with home made icecream!

Throw out your Creative Gourmet frozen pomegranate.

Once again Hepatitis linked to frozen fruit.

It is pertaining to certain dates and certain retailers but I would throw it all out.

It's possible some other batches haven't been discovered yet.

Twice in 2015 it was berries from China and this time it's pomegranate from Egypt.

Unhygienic process and handling has been blamed.

Not again!

When this first happened 3 years ago, I started buying fresh and freezing my own berries.

Never trusted them, so I'm still buying fresh and freezing them.

Best way. No additives.

I also freeze fresh herbs, fresh chillies, always on hand.
