with another day another 30,000+ cases within NSW the pandemic will surely end soon as they run out of the unvaccinated or will Camberra run out of unvaccinated first ?
Fortunately the South Africans were correct in evaluating Omicron as being highly infectious but relatively mild - almost effectively the fourth vaccine for those fated to contract

Plenty of vaccinated people are contracting the virus. I doubt the families of the mass who have died from Omicron would regard it as "relatively mild". Virtually everybody will get Covid-19, and sadly many more will die. We need to hope the hospitals and health staff can continue hold on, but it's looking grim.

I'm not exactly sure when the facts are going to sink in.
There is no - them - or - us - vaccinated or unvaccinated.
Both are able to catch - and - pass on - Covid.
The vaccinated will suffer less severe symptoms.
The unvaccinated - well - that's their problem.
Along with the problem of the health system.

Actually NFS, there has still been a great spread of the delta variant and it’s this variant that are in predominantly causing the hospitalisations, the ICU admissions and deaths.
The unvaccinated are the super spreaders!

It seems only one politician did the smart thing and that's Mark McGowan.

ongoing discussion :
The unvaccinated - well - that's their problem.
Along with the problem of the health system.
.... and along with employment in VIC ( need not apply : being a problem for the unvaccinated )
There is no - them - or - us - vaccinated or unvaccinated.
Both are able to catch - and - pass on - Covid.
" and remember the pandemic is the pandemic of the unvaccinated ! " by Govt dictate
The vaccinated will suffer less severe symptoms.
what is less severe symptoms than mild ?

That is true, in part, because the Delta variant has been around for longer and people have been sicker for longer. NSW, QLD, VIC and SA have all had Omicron deaths and of concern is the younger age of the victims. One man in his 30s died even though he was fully vaccinated. Omicron will spread across the country and vaccination is not guaranteed to prevent death. Also, the ability to access full health care will be reduced as the nurses and doctors struggle to keep up. IMO, other than in WA, the pandemic is out of control because the Governments have lost control. Scary times!
