I was talking to another bloke "Bill" who had been volunteering cutting the grass at the local oval. He is training the under 7's rugby lkeague side.

He settled on his tiny slab house on the 6th december 2019.... it burned to the ground on the 8th December at Yarranbella. he came from Narooma. Bill has a wife and 4 children and his father in law. all living in lean to's surrounding a16 ft caravan He is lucky as he is a builder and had enough money and skills to purchase 2nd hand building products to make the lean to's habitable.

On new years day his mother and father lost their 40 year family farm at Narooma.....all of them have had minimal physical or financial goevernment help

Re: bushfire survivors are struggling

What happened to all that money Morrison promised, that was being managed by Andrew Colvin?

i know the donations organized by Celeste Barbour never went where she intended, due to a legal technicality, they went to the RFS instead of the bushfire victims.

it must be really depressing for the people there

Hugely depressing!

I watched 4corners last night, it brought me to tears, re the devastation to our country folk.

I've been donating on a fortnightly basis.

After the fundraiser went viral, Barber had indeed intended for money to go to victims.

“I’m going to make sure that Victoria gets some, that South Australia gets some, also families of people who have died in these fires, the wildlife,” she said.

“I’m hearing you all. I want you to know that, otherwise why raise this money if it’s not going to go to the people who absolutely need it.”

Re: bushfire survivors are struggling

So, as you can see.. she clearly didn't intend for it to go just to the RFS.

Not being an experienced fund raiser, she wouldnt've known there were legal loopholes in NSW

Re: bushfire survivors are struggling

Not just NSW, but the RFS in particular has strict rules.

How would anyone know what they were?
