Subtitles - yes or no? Is it worth the additional cost?

My concern is me running out of characters in the main title, despite trying different variations

If someone does a title only search on ebay (and doesn't tick title + description) would a subtitle

show up (in theory) in that search or will only words in the MAIN title show? Thankyou.

The subtitles always show up in search results, they're just not searchable by default, so they're good for attention-drawing or clarifying information.

If an item needs more than 80 characters to adequately describe it, I would immediately consider keyword spamming. But that's just me. And I am grumpy. There are at least three others.

I rarely use subtitles but I have a couple situations where I feel it might be useful. It is quite possible to run out of characters

and not be key word spamming (believe me I have seen some shockers and not all are chinese sellers....). Dave why do you always seem so grumpy? 😉
