Is ebay for real with their 'watermarking' of photos?

How does their 'watermarking' protect your image?

It's very neatly placed in the bottom left corner, nowhere near the item,

all nice and ready for the unscrupulous seller to crop for themselves.

Utterly ridiculous!!!

Nope.      Did one - they decide

Multiple choice.......your ebay id or the little camera icon

(which by the way goes down on the bottom right!)

Nowhere is there anywhere to say where to put it.

I did some 6 months ago and I could move it into each corner, centre, top bottom, change size and fonts.

I could also choose what I write as the watermark.

Edit - Just realized I probably used one that I googled then browsed the pic into the listing from comp.

Yeah,  as an aside.   I'm sick of looking at my poor sick smileys too   

At least the hourglasses finally went away,  so there's hope on the horizon
