What is a reasonable amount of time to allow buyers to make payment by?

Really donna?  Plenty of threads about the resurgence of non-paying buyers.

Seems to be a plague of them

gemma, tell them 3 days in your listing.

There's more than one clueless buyer out there, that's why I think

it should be in the listings.

This thread is recent and not unusual:

Another seller was arguing with their buyer, because the buyer said time wasn't

mentioned, therefore they could pay anytime.   Clueless buyers

I use the unpaid item assistant and disputes are raised automatically after 4 days.

Ebay states 4 days before you can open a dispute then a further 4 days before it can be closed.

I would not bother mentioning it, most people pay immediately

What's the point of asking when the buyer should pay? because Ebay allows it to be 4 days and this is why buyers don't pay any attention when you state the payment must be made within blah blah blah days so why do some sellers want to insist that you pay any earlier than required.I don't and if I don't receive payment after 4 days then UID is automatically opened.

not clueless, just disrespectful, selfish and inconsiderate IMO

Their "need" to secure an item outweighs their consideration that it is somebody's livlihood they're playing with.
