On any listing, Ebay show you how many have been sold of that item. One thing I have noticed is that even cancelled sales, unpaid item transactions etc, still show up on this list. Why is that? The sale hasn't been completed so it shouldn't count as beign 'sold'.

It shouldn't but eBay "logic" would be that the listing was "purchased" so it counts as a sale,(it doesn't matter to
them if it was then cancelled or not completed in another way)
Any items that you do a partial refund on also stays in your lists as according to their logic it hasn't been
fully paid for,

It bumps up the figures and makes things look better than they really are. A bit like including the cost of postage in the value of sold items. It pumps up the figures and makes you think you are selling more than you really are.
