star ratings for item as described are a bit inaccurately scaled

ok so maybe I;m a bit slow on this as these have probably been the same for years but leaving feedback and I notice the star ratings for item as described scale is a bit strange as 3 stars is 'neither in accurate or accurate'  how is that even possible, if its not accurate it would have to be inaccurate. then 4 stars is accurate and 5 is very accurate. This doesnt really make sense as the term accurate doesnt really have a sliding scale it either is or isnt.

Maybe ebay should change the rating system to this

1 - couldnt be more different than described very unsatisfactory

2 - not as described, unsatisfactory

3 - Not quite as good as the listing, but satisfactory

4 - As good as described, just what I was expecting

5 - Better than described, well pleased with this

Re: star ratings for item as described are a bit inaccurately scaled

I usually use a 3 for "neither accurate or inaccurate" when I have received an item that I am pleased with - but the seller had no description  - tho I might rethink this policy if it is going to register as a "defect" against the seller

I think that little number 3 is going to cause a lot of tears shortly.

What buyers think it means and what eBay think it means are two different things.

3 is a defect. A slap on the nose for a bad seller. They need to make that more obvious at the star leaving page.
