Hi Guys,
I have purchased from a seller and I have noticed that they have put me on their regular marketing/promotional emails.
The issue is that I did not agree to this and I don't think it's appropriate for seller's to use buyer's contact details to put in their databases for marketing purposes without their consent.
Thoughts?
If they are not allowed to do this, how do I go about raising the issue?

It is against eBay policies, and if they re-subscribed you to their list, they can be reported.

As Zanadoo said, most of the emails have an unsubscribe link.

No need to contact the seller....just unsubscribe as you would with any annoying advertising matter.

Most online stores I have bought from send their advertising emails afterwards
I also simply unsubscribe

Sure I get that you can just simply unsubscribe. You have to do it each time with this particular seller.
My point is that they shouldn't be doing this without your consent. If you buy from someone doesn't mean they can automatically contact you all the time afterwards since they have your details.

Just message the seller and ask that you not be subscribed to the list.
I have always found that once unsubscribed I never get another one.
Have you tried that or have you just come here to complain?

It's a genuine question around whether seller's can use your personal information for marketing and promotional material based on eBay's current policies. I unsubscribed then got subscribed again in this case.

Thanks mate. I had a look at those and none were ticked. I think seller's grab your details from eBay and automatically put it in their marketing lists.
