Australia Post 1kg Express Post satchels

I see AP are now offering 1kg express satchels.

So far no mention on their eBay store or in Click & Send. Seems to be only for express, no standard Parcel Post offering.

They offered the same thing last year. If they had 1kg Parcel Post satchels their profit margin would dip ever-so-slightly (personally I would prefer to see a 0-250g parcel rate but that won't happen either).

Online perhaps. In store you can probably buy them individually.

It seems you can't buy any of the express satchels individually online, but they still have the individual prices except for the 1kg satchel, so you probably can't buy individually at the PO.

I saw these advertised on the PO wall.

AP seem to come up with these random ideas about what customers want when really I don't think they have a clue.

As stated above, a 250 gram satchel ( at the 500 gram satchel dimensions) or a 1kg standard postage would be far more useful.

$1.30 diference between one of these 1 kg satchels and a 3kg express satchel. Considering the larger capacity of the 3kg, the 1 kg price is rather extortionate.

Asked about them at PO earlier today. At this stage they are just a promotion in packs of 10, unfortunately.

Application did have an up to 250g parcel rate but canned it to make more money and I wouldn't be surprised if they can the up to 500g rate too
