Sold item apparently 'lost' in Australia Post mail

I sold a block of four stamps and posted them after receiving Paypal payment.  Twelve business days later and the buyer is now messaging me saying they have not received them.  Ebay is saying that we can resolve it ourselves but the other option appears for me to refund the purchase price.

Do I have to paybak the money paid for the item when Australia Post fails to deliver?

That's well done.

But I have all of a sudden lost to much and can't get over it so I am just walking away.

Were they from Victoria's eastern suburbs? That happens time and time again, no matter if it's small letters, large letters or parcels of any size; about 1 in 4 things always end up lost where I am - not stolen, just not delivered - no postie, no bike, no van. Bonus points if the tracking shows "DELIVERED" in another suburb ten kilometres away.

Digital, did you lodge a complaint and request a refund on the first express post for their failure to deliver?
