Ebay cyber attack??!!!

Is anyone else having issues selling this week?

Over the last week I've had numerous buyers trying to purchase items from me. When they try to buy a message comes up at checkout and it says,  "the seller is unable to post to your location".  They are domestic buyers and local buyers. This is affecting over 220 of my listings.

I have contacted Ebay regarding this issue several times this week its a serious technical issue affecting my account and is preventing me from selling any items on eBay!  I was told today that it's possible it could be a cyber attack and it is happening to other sellers the Ebay customer support officer was reluctant to tell me anything further.

Hi there  S & D,  yes tried that too, dont know that it was the same product, got as far as you without any problems.  Ditto to the end.

I also still believe the original issue may well have related to click and collect, as at the time of sale via ebay it is hyperlinked direct to click & Collect.     Ebay mentions a specialist team to help with click and collect problems,  while  click and collect  only mention  cancellations via the merchant.

Hi right back at you, gutterpunkz. Yes, eBay CS chat reps will simply refer to a reference number as though it's a known technical issue number upon which rows of dedicated IT specialists are feverishly working.

But in actual fact, it's probably closer to this: countessalmirena_1-1616569137977.gif

The most likely way that the OP will get this sorted is by community help, and I think we do need some more information to be able to brainstorm this.

And it is hard to tell when the OP's current issue arose,  IE  before or after his original thread having trouble cancelling an order.  If I remember correctly, it would appear the buyer was unable to complete a purchase

as the OP did not post to his location,  but the buyer was then able to complete the purchase by using a parcel point/hubbed  address in all likelyhood supplied via click & collect, which despite the OP stating otherwise, was valid on well over half there listings at the time.

Re: Ebay cyber attack??!!!

My account is only 14 years old, so I might not qualify as old.

I do, however, not have business policies and I end and relist every 6 months. I realise with only 1700 listings compared to your 222, that might mean a lot more work than you seem to be prepared to put in.

Thanks for being respectful unlike some other users on here.. seem intent on nastiness..gutterpunkz!

I have finally rectified the issue myself. Ebay customer support could not help me.

I went through a series of elimination with one listing and signed into another account to test.

I ended up deleting all my postage options except Ebay postage labels and it worked, all my listings have now been fixed. It seems that for some odd reason, Ebay only allows me to select Ebay postage labels as an option, I had to delete other postage options for buyers.

Hate to disappoint you, but click and collect was NOT the issue..gutterpunkz

I deleted click and collect as a series of trouble shooting elimination just in case, as I don't want to post interstate for free anyway..

Despite your self proclaimed godly intelligence I sorted the issue myself no thanks to your rudeness (accusing me of being dumb)

Dear davewil1964

I put the issue up in a few boards because one was initially in USA and I got responses there was no issue from International buyers, my issue was domestic.  I rarely use these boards and so do not know my way around them, I also tried to bookmark conversation threads that I posted, I was told by the Ebay CS agent that it could be a cyber attack issue, but I'm guessing your right, when they want to get rid of you they just agree with you and tell you to have a nice day or hang up on you. Very unhelpful.

I rarely come on here so didn't know my way around.

Re: Ebay cyber attack??!!!

Ebay postage labels are not a postage option. It's just a way of pre paying your postage before going to the post office. Just like MyPost Business. All that means is, you aren't having to pay for the postage when you hand your parcel over the counter, because it's already been paid.

Re: Ebay cyber attack??!!!

Yep I get that, but selecting "ebay postage labels" as the "only" postage option for buyers in my listings seems to have fixed all my issues. I did a bulk edit and it seems ok now, fingers crossed.

I still use MyPost Business most of the time, the integration is good with tracking. Sendle was good at the start, but couriers were becoming very unreliable for pick ups, they are cheaper for Metro areas, but obscenely expensive for regional postage because they use too many 3rd parties for deliveries and som items get lost.

Thanks for your help and for being polite.
