Is there still a market for these antique items?

Question for all the vintage/antique sellers - I was just wondering if there is still a market for antique books and cabinet cards?

I have about 200 Australian antique cabinet cards which I was thinking of putting up on another account but not sure if it's worth it to spend my time photographing and listing etc.

I also have about a dozen wonderful antique books which I want to get rid of - again, not sure if the market is there? I used to sell antique books years ago, but haven't listed anything for quite some time.

Do a search on completed listings to see what has been selling and for what prices.

There's 110 listings for 'antique cabinet cards'  and they're worth quite a bit

cc, there's not a huge sell-through rate for them, and those that sell do so fairly cheaply.

Around a 100 listed, some at pretty high prices...........................

I imagine you've probably looked at both the links already, but if not there they are.

Thanks everyone - it's really hard to judge from the Completed Listings section as one can never tell how long an item has been up for, how many relists it has had and/or whether the price has been dropped.

Not my area at all, so can't offer any specific advice, but the ones showing as sold in the completed listings were all listed between April - July (you can sort search results by date listed). I didn't compare that against date sold, but it suggests a 2-5 month list time before selling (if they sell). I looked at two completed listings, one had no revisions at all, and the other had one revision but not on price.

The bulk lots seem to fair better than the single items, at any rate.

It can be time consuming but open one of the completed listings and click on the sellers ID then click on view items for sale then click on their completed listings to see if they had listed the items more than once.

The market for antique books is still quite strong. Like all things it depends on the subject matter & condition etc.  Early Australian books are still bringing very good prices as are antique sport and cooking books. Old childrens books still seem to have a good following.

I have had some excellent results with collectable book auctions on ebay recently including selling 14 of 17 book auction listings which finished tonight. Most had multiple bids with a number making around double the opening bid price.

I attended a specialist B & M antique book auction some months ago and there was a very good attendence and good prices achieved.

Basically the specialist, collectable book market is just as strong as two or three years ago.
