Why (now post is part of fees)

Why (now post is part of fees) can't Free Post items be at the top of search lists in front of more expensive  price + post items.

ie: item = $54 + $13.40 comes up the top of the search list in front of the cheaper $59.95 Free Post item.

If ebay wants to promote Free Post over item price plus post, surely the cheapest total price should be at the top of the search results and not on the 3rd or 4th page?

I look at it this way ..... at least I can choose how to see items - lowest price + postage - nearest - ending soonest .......... etc etc.

As for the mystery of how the default (best match) works ...... it changes depending on who ebay is 'looking after', I think.

What about when the listing has an auction price + postage (eg $5 + $2p&h = $7)

as well as a BIN + postage.  (BIN $8 + $2 p&h = $10)

That lower auction price puts it higher in the search field

Nah.  OH updated PC and lappy over the last week or so.

I like windows 10 - sure beats 8         and it's free.........

I lurv windows 10 after a year of the dreaded 8.1 lol, mind you I use Start8 which makes it look like windows 7.
