Hi everyone, I’m going a little mad trying to figure this out! I’ve been selling on eBay for 20+ years, but I’m now winding down my account and have changed from a paid store to the new free selling option to avoid the 13% fees. I figured, why not? From what I’ve read, if you’re selling things like DVDs, video games, etc., you’re supposed to be able to send them in your own envelope with stamps rather than having to use the compulsory eBay postage labels. For the life of me, though, I cannot find any option on the listing page to select an envelope/letter postage option. I’ve just sold a game and eBay charged me $8.60 for a postage label, when I could have simply put the game in my own padded envelope, added the appropriate stamps and posted it myself. Am I missing something obvious? How are other sellers sending DVDs/games as letters or envelopes under the new free selling system? Any help would be greatly appreciated because this is doing my head in!

Hi everyone, I'm in need of some advice, since I can't reach an agent to ask directly. Basically, I'm in Australia and I'm looking at purchasing something from the US (as I do semi-regularly) but I notice the cost of shipping is well over $40AUD, so I message the seller to ask if the price of shipping is negotiable. They try to change it on their end, but neither of us can see a difference in the displayed amount. I then try to contact an agent through live chat, but I've had absolutely no luck, so I'm reaching out here. What would cause the shipping price to glitch out like that? Is it better to adjust the item costs to account for the shipping, or will it take a day or two for those changes to show? Any ideas, or is this a bug with the website itself?

Hi Ebay Forum peoples, When I buy something small and inexpensive from ebay it always ends up at the post office requiring a signature for collection. Its annoying and for me it's a 30 minute drive in each direction and it must be collected during business hours. I always check the postage to make sure it says standard untracked post and I have my preferences set with a note to leave it in my letterbox. So I recently contacted a seller when this happened again and the said: "The order was shipped using the standard postage service as described in the listing. Unfortunately, due to a technical/delivery issue with the shipping company, Australia Post was unable to complete the delivery directly to your address and the parcel was therefore made available for collection at the local Post Office. Australia Post does sometimes redirect parcels to a Post Office when direct delivery cannot be completed.... However, this was an issue with the carrier's delivery process and was unfortunately outside our control". I asked them who the shipping company was and they said it is iMile. Interestingly for me I have discovered that iMile are successfully delivering small low cost items to my letterbox when purchased from Aliexpress so I am assuming it is something to do with eBay's automatic postage conditions. I never have this problem with Aliexpress or Amazon. This has been happening for a while now. I had given up buying from ebay because of this but gave them another go recently but I wont be trying again for a while. It's just too much hassle for small low cost items. Luke.

Hello everyone, We're encountering an issue with our current shipping rate table configuration. While it efficiently calculates postage for multiple quantities of the same item, it incorrectly adds separate base rates for different items, leading to unexpectedly high shipping costs for our customers. Has anyone discovered a way to adjust rate tables or business policies to better support combined postage for varied item purchases? eBay mentioned that buyers can request combined postage, but this option is only accessible on the desktop version and not available on mobile devices or the app. With around 13,000 active listings on eBay, manually calculating combined shipping for each order isn't feasible for us. We believe that an automatic solution should be possible, especially since the system already combines the weight when it’s the same item. If anyone has experience with a similar setup or suggestions on the necessary shipping preference settings, I’d appreciate your insights. Hi everyone, Thank you for taking the time to read my post. When it was announced that the “free to sell” was coming I was happy. I’m just a seller of my handmade crochet baby blankets. I love what I do and I don’t make much and I never expected too. Earlier this week I had my first sale on the “free to sell” way. I packaged my sale and off I went to the post office, paid my postage, uploaded tracking on Australia Post website and mobile app and then went to upload tracking to my buyer. Frustration kicked in. I spent the best part of a couple of hours trying to work out what was wrong. I then spent another hour with customer service. I thought I’d better advise my buyer their tracking number, which I did. I couldn’t even mark the purchase as “sent”. Customer service assured me that I wouldn’t receive a defect to my account if my account went into a “not shipped” loop. Am I being forced to use eBay labels? Will I lose my ability to sell on eBay if I don’t use them? I already have a discount QR code with Australia Post and eBay labels will cost more. Am I alone with the frustration or do other casual sellers share the same frustration?

Hello. I didnt want to buy and print a label from ebay as I was away from computer. I am not good with my phone so got the address and sent item. Got back to my computer to mark as sent and add tracking ( as I have done for years) and it says my item isnt available for that action. I looked on how to contact ebay and all I get is a stupid AI assistant but cant seem to talk to a human. Help please

I sold a pair of shoes and accidentally typed one of the sizes incorrectly so the seller wanted a refund which is fair enough. I charged $15 to post. I had to purchase a return label at $17.78 but when collecting the shoes today noticed they were sent in a small post satchel which cost $11.70. It doesn't seem you can get a refund although ebay would know how much was charged as the package had a tracking number. Does anyone know if you can? The shoes were only sold for $12.50. Lesson learnt. Not really worth the effort of putting low value items on ebay

Lets face it, Ebay's ISP is more expensive and frankly takes longer than United States Postal Service, which is saying something. An item takes 5 days to arrive at their 'Hub' where it sits for a further 3 days. After which it is handed to a variety of carriers who wait a few more days before dispatching the item. Overall a buyer is looking at close to 3 weeks for an item to arrive via the Ebay ISP from the US. USPS seem to manage the same trip in around 2 weeks. Sellers are more or less forced to use the ISP, otherwise they are not covered by Ebay's protections. So much for choice. Lets not mention Amazon who seem to be able to sort, dispatch and have a purchase from the US arrive in a week. So, the only outcome is, I will be buying less to nothing anymore from Ebay US. The only advantage I can see for the ISP, is Ebay makes more profit at the expense of expedited delivery.

I need to send a label to a buyer to send an item back but EBAY does not make it easy. I have no idea on where or how to print of a label for the buyer to send the item back
