Today I received a phone call on my landline.
It was a computer generated voice like siri of a young Australian woman with the usual script of "Your card will be charged x amount, we'll ship the iPhone right away, press 1 to speak to ebay customer service if you didn't...blah blah blah."
It has to be a scam because eBay doesn't do the phone confirmation thing with purchases. In fact, I'm not even sure they have phones as I've never seen a phone number that I can call.
Anyway, just thought you should know.

Numerous threads about it on here
They pretend to be many different 'people' too, not just eBay
So many people go right on ahead and press 1 and then wonder why they end up on many more scam caller lists

I just received the same call. Obviously a scam. Plus they need to update their recording as it said I had purchased an iPhone7. A bit out of date isn't it!
Actually I'm sure eBay does not even have my landline number on file.
If eBay has an IT Scammer division I recorder the incoming number although I doubt it would be anything traceable.
Meanwhile I guess we just put up with it and hang up on those calls.
