Item Returned but no refund.

I received an item with a wrong description. Ebay initially said I had it wrong but then issued a return label. Australia Post was so slow, ebay closed the case. After spending over an hour chatting to support, including two supervisors I was promised a refund. They acknowled that the item had now arrived back at the seller. I have the chat transcripts. But still no refund. Ebay's statement that you are guaranteed a refund is looking a little false. My question is, who can I contact. Its been too long now for normal requests. (I keep waiting for the promised refund)

Item Returned but no refund.

Did you actually open a case with the seller?

What do you mean "Ebay" said you had it wrong? Did you communicate with the seller or customer service?

Not enough details here.

Item Returned but no refund.

eBay have no possible way whatsoever of knowing if the item you got was wrong or not, only you and the seller could know such a thing

As mentioned, did you actually open and item not as described dispute (which is what you needed to do) or only contact an eBay customer service person?

That is an essential step (opening the correct dispute yourself) that you don't mention doing

Item Returned but no refund.

The seller accepted the picture I sent which showed that the DVD was Universal whereas the seller had clearly classified it as R4.

Ebay issued a paid return label.

Thx Jellybirddesigns

I discussed with the seller who ended up saying that  the DVD he sent was "Universal " region so it didn't matter that he had labelled it as R4.

I pointed out that old DVD players would not play universal but would play R4.

I then appealed to Ebay who claimed that I had just changed my mind.. They said I could return the item for a refund but I would have to pay since I had changed my mind.

I disputed this because the region of a DVD is one of the main criteria and ebay give it a special section at the start of the listing. Ebay agreed and issued me with a post paid return label which they can track. I posted th item and kept watching for the refund. Ebay closed the case because , " I had not provided tracking information" I contacted ebay complaints and told them that they had the tracking info because they issued the return label. They initially said that the case was closed because it was too old. Though I had posted quickly, which they knew,  Australia post didn't deliver for ages.  They told me that they would help me approach paypal. I didn't want that and told them ebay had guaranteed refunds. I spoke to a supervisor who admitted that the item had arrived at the seller's place. He said he would ensure a refund. Hasn't come and I can't even seem to start a chat about it with ebay now. I have the transcripts if you would like ๐Ÿ™‚

Not a good look for ebay!

Item Returned but no refund.

If you paid via PayPal, open a case in their resolution centre for INAD and provide the tracking number in the case.
