Just contact the seller and tell them you received your item, and ask them to send you a payment request through paypal.

Was it a purchase from within Australia? You seem to have handled it correctly, waited a reasonable amount of time and opened a case within the Ebay time frame. And nice to see you want to reimburse the seller now. Given they haven't responded to your messages so far, not sure they deserve that

Just go into your PayPal account and send the money back. They don't have to send you an invoice or anything, you just refund the payment.

Ebay pay the buyer, then debit the seller, so the refund would go to them. Can they be trusted to pass it on to the seller 😁

Nothing to do with eBay.

Even initially. The money goes directly to the seller's Paypal account. A refund is the reverse. Reversing the refund would, once again, go directly to the seller's Paypal account. Especially as it won't be going through eBay at all.

No, I might not. Even if eBay initiated the initial refund due to lack of seller action, a reversal won't go through eBay. It is nothing to do with them anymore.

Sorry I've taken so long to respond. No you've either misunderstood me or I worded my comment wrong. I didn't mean to do a reversal through Ebay, purely to go there to contact the seller, to ask them to send a payment request (directly through paypal is what I meant). So just for communication only. I wasn't aware you could just reverse a refund, easier that way definitely, but I would also notify the seller just as a courtesy and heads up
