Scam from Australian mobile number

Just letting you know I received a call with an automated message that my card had been debited for  $290 and to cancel press 1. Stupidly i did but more stupidly, the person answering the phone was obviously at a train station and obviously not an eBay employee (although im sure they do support WFH).

Don't answer. More fool me.

If I remember correctly, one forum user not only pressed 1, but was then persuaded to hand over all her identifying information via a "form" the scammers used so that they could process the "refund".

Just don't answer any calls from numbers you don't recognise and let them go to voicemail.

You'll probably notice an uptick in scam calls and messages now, but just add them to your blocked caller list.
