*** Seller is uncooperative with me regarding a return/refund for a faulty item still in warranty ***

I have purchased an item just under a year ago which has become faulty. I sent the item back to the seller ast my expense and have had no end of trouble with them and a lack of support. I need eBay to step in, but from what I have read on eBay's self help sections is I need to find the item in my Purchase History to click on a link to have eBay look into my issue.

While I can look up the product in other ways, when I go to eBay's help pages it asks me to find the item in my purchase history and click on a link. In my Purchase History the item isn't there - I may have 'hidden/deleted' the item to clean up my eBay interface. But I can bring the transaction up in other ways, I just cant raise an enquiry with eBay.

How would I get in touch with eBay through other channels ie email or a llink on their site where they can look into the issue at hand?

The seller I purchased from has false advertising in their listing as well as general misleading information and to top it off, they are not standing behind the warranty of their product.

Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated as the seller shouldn't get away with it and I shouldn't be out of pocket.

Many thanks in advance.

Kim

You have no warranty unless you purchased from a registered Australian business who is also an authorised reseller of the item.

eBay's protection is for 30 days after last estimated delivery date; Paypal's for 180 days from the transaction; most banks ditto.

You have had your item for a year (roughly). You have no eBay/Paypal/Bank protections. You might have a case through ACL, but that would depend on the seller being a registered Australian business who is also an authorised reseller of the item.

Is the Seller in Australia? Are they an authorized Seller of this product? Did you contact the Seller before sending the item back?

The seller told me that they do not reside in Australia. Yet I returned the item to VICTORIA, Australia for testing and had to walk him through the software that I had done my testing with.also his listing states the item comes from Victoria and he has an Australian flag on the photos of his listing. If he isn’t in Australia then his listing in my opinion is false advertising. However die tot he fact that I had to walk him through the testing software I was using the day following its return to Victoria, strongly suggests to me he is in the country. Either he lied to me about being in Australia to test my equipment or he is falsely making it appear in his listing that the item is in Australia. Also another issue is it appears that he is now selling these as refurbished, yet on my original listing from when I purchased the item it said the item was new. Yes I’ve had the item almost a year now, but it has a two year warranty on the product which the seller is not honouring because he says it isn’t faulty. I did almost 6months of testing with this unit and an identical unit. This unit failed constantly and the other unit has not failed a single time. I think it’s purely a case of the seller simply not wanting to back his product. eBay so far has been of no help. I understand that the warranty is between me and the seller, but the seller has been lying either way and eBay are responsible if a seller is falsely advertising a product on their platform. Similar to Facebook being held accountable for offensive videos being put on their platform.

And yes I discussed the issue with the seller before sending the item back at my expense.

Ebay has removed any personal customer service. All I get is a bot response. If anyone has a phone number or email please send

Use Live Chat.

That is the only real option to contact eBay.

It might be better, however, to read up on buying on eBay - specifically the Money Back Guarantee.

You don't need to contact eBay, you need to use the tools they make available.

None of which have anything to do with warranties. Those are between the consumer, the seller (maybe) and the manufacturer (unlikely)
