Good question. Well, it's obvious that you wouldn't because you like other thinking people value your privacy and you care. In short, what's safe today quite possibly may not be safe tomorrow. There's probably other forms of ID that could be used, drivers license etc., but personally I would only present them to my bank etc..

Have a PayPal account????

Proof of identity
The following is a list of acceptable documents you may provide:

  • Government issued ID, such as a driver's license or passport
  • Employment authorization card
  • Permanent resident card

Please make your advice at least - plausible.

4c probably didn't even take that. Unfortunate.

It seems I will have to have a 3rd assault, with no guarantee that is the last. I could always lose my job and bludge off the Government...

I read somewhere that Craig Kelly recommends it be taken as a suppository.  Supposed to make it work faster!

Who do we know that listens to CK?

CK's idea of a suppository - would be the left ear.

Most of us here - have been - ' assaulted ' - for the third time - no guarantee it's the last.

Dave is particularly affected by jabs. Dave, if youโ€™ve managed somehow to endure them, I take my Italian straw sunhat off to you. (And I was just wearing one, weeding out pernicious growth between the cracks at the bottom of the driveway.)

Selling on eBay at least offers people who are vaccine-resistant a workplace that doesnโ€™t care about their vaccination status. Managed Payments also donโ€™t require proof of vaccination. For sellers whose parcel numbers are large enough, presumably a courier can come by to do the pickup โ€ฆ? โ€ฆ in which case no vacc status is required to be shown,

Managed Payments requires that proof of ID be shown. Itโ€™s certainly worrying to some people to supply the very proofs of ID that a scammer would want. I do actually sympathiseโ€ฆ but there are circumstances where ID is legitimately required, and there are circumstances where ID is illegitimately requested by those who will use it for their own scamming/criminal purposes.

It just means that people need to exercise good judgement. For someone who is uncomfortable about providing ID to eBay for the purpose described, he/she can say no. That will mean being unable to receive payment/selling on eBay; thatโ€™s a foreseeable and clear consequence.

The production of proof of ID will probably be a requirement for current buyers as well Countess when Paypal is removed as a payment option for eBay items. I'm assuming that GPay will have that requirement and other credit cards are not available to the buyer.
