i purchased on the 30th of march & when i asked the seller to send tracking info when they sent for authentication they told me they would do that last Monday. Today I contacted the seller again with the request for tracking & they responded that they had, had the item in their car but unable to get to post office. They could send directly to me (bypassing the authenticity guarantee from ebay) straight away IF i wanted. i responded that No, i wanted the authenticity certificate. They responded again to say they had a certificate from Italy to show the bag had been cleaned! Then another message to say they would rather sell directly & for me to please cancel. This really irritates me as if I cancel I am unable to leave feedback for them as I feel that the probability of the item being genuine is low. Ebay shows I am unable to open a request until the 11th of March .... anyone have any suggestions please? Should I just wait it out another 5 days?

No, don't cancel.
It's highly unlikely you're going to receive it so
1) I'd report the messages to eBay and
2) I'd wait out the 5 days
eBay seem to care very little about fakes on this site but hopefully the seller would be sanctioned in some way
AND It may well be a SCAM - it's been sold twice
The OP was the first buyer. The seller relisted it and it sold again on 4th April
An expensive item, advertised as going to authentication, seller trying to bypass……a load of BS……..
dob them in!
The seller is clearly full of everything rotten
Open and follow through with the dispute as soon as it allows
And ignore any stories, offers, etc they send after you do
Indeed - wait out a mere 5 days.
What is the item number?
