eBay have not had a call centre up and running with customer service reps contactable by phone since shortly after the onset of the pandemic.

That persists (largely) to this day.

In some instances, eBay members can call - in particular if they think their account has been hijacked - but in most cases eBay want their members to contact them via Live Chat. There are times when this is helpful, but there are also many instances when it’s not. eBay Live Chat is staffed with poorly paid CS reps who are trained to respond with chunks or snippets of scripts based on quoting eBay policy and generated by using keywords from your query. When they can help, great – but when they can’t, it isn’t their fault.

To reach eBay Live Chat, go to the Help page and scroll down to the link Contact Us.

Or here: I’ve included the actual link to Contact Us.

Or… you may want to ask your question on these boards, where experienced community members may be able to offer some information or advice. Don’t post any personally identifying information, such as your name or address or phone number or email, but give enough detail to describe the problem, and we just may be able to help.

There isn't an Australian phone number, you need to go through "eBay help" at the top of the page then when you pick a reason for contacting them scroll to the bottom for contact options.

Otherwise you could tell us your problem and one of the experienced members will probably help you out.
