Ebay best price guarantee scam or not

A recent experience with a product I purchased on Ebay has led me to believe Ebay deliberately filter out products or deliberately hide them as to not show in the search results, I would assume so the Best price Guarantee does not have to be honored.

With a search of a certain product only a couple showed up and only available in the US, ok fair enough I purchased one of these items and to my disbelief a few days later an Email from Ebay saying the same item from a different seller was availablefor $50 less than what I paid, on opening this email I noticed there were a considerable number also available that did not come up in Ebays search for this product.

On questioning this to Ebay they have come up with all these excuses and one that really caught my attention was they inferred "these other sellers were below average" with the one emailed to me had a rating of 99.4% and had feedback of 329403,so much for Ebay Best Price Guarantee.

I should also mention I told Ebay I was going to contact the seller and tell them of this outcome but it seems Ebay has blocked me from contacting them.
