I bought the same product twice. First was for 1 item then realised it should have been 2.

I bought the same item twice. When it came to check out I realised it was only for 1 so I deleted that and re ordered 2 of the product. Ebay are saying I still have to pay for the first one and I have already paid for the 2 I wanted. Why can't I just cancel the first order?
