I recently bought two items from the same seller. After unsuccessfully attempting to pay via Paypal, I was informed by the seller that she had inadvertently caused a problem with her own Paypal account. She then asked me to pay by direct bank deposit instead, and sent me details of her bank account. I agreed, but a week later, when the goods had not yet been posted, I enquired about the problem and was told that she had accidentally given me both the wrong bank account and BSB number details. Fortunately, there was no such account, so my bank reversed the transaction. Eventually, we sorted out the problem, the seller sent me the correct bank details, and I've now just received the items. I understand that the seller's mistakes were unintentional, but I don't know whether I'm helping other buyers if I just give feedback that says the transaction was great and went smoothly. I don't want to damage her eBay reputation for human mistakes. How should I write the feedback?
Feedback is meant to be a guide to other buyers as to how reliable a seller is. By leaving a pos you are virtually recommending that seller as being trustworthy. If you feel comfortable telling people they are safe buying from them by all means leave pos feedback.
I would not, you received your item but often a so called problem with a Paypal account and a request to use bank deposit is a ruse to prevent the buyer from having any buyer protection.
