Make an offer?

Hi there,

Can anyone provide advice in regard to 'Make an Offer'? I wonder what is realistic offer if the item is listed at $899? (It is a gorgeous wrought iron cabinet!)

Mambo, to give you an idea on the flipside, we do handmade furniture on our selling ID.  Comparable items in the shops sell for considerably more.  I get very annoyed by people sending in offers, (We dont have make an offer on our listing for this very reason) that are 25% below my start bid.  Its all I can do to not reply "If you want charity, go see the Salvos".  We work very hard, and wont sell things at a loss.

Personally I would go no more than 15% MAX below, but if the cabinet is as gorgeous as you say, $800 wouldnt be an unreasonable second offer 🙂
