Purchased item is in $US. Can I convert it to $AUS before PayPal payment?

Ive won a bid listed in $US currency. Can i have that currency changed to $AUS before commencing final payment through PayPal?

The $US purchase price is $58 and $78 AUS, i wish to use a discount code that wont be accepted as the Ebay purchase price in $US 

currency and is under the $75 required amout to accept the code.

These discount codes often require the purchase to be made on ebay.com.au (Aust eBay).

So even if you could convert, I don't thnik you can use the code.
