Seller unresponsive, negative feedback disappeared?

Hi All,

I made a not so insignificant purchase on here recently, upon which the seller became un-responsive. After several weeks of waiting for the item to arrive, despite having no indication of it being sent, I contacted eBay support and received a refund.

I also left, what I feel is a justified, negative feedback response for the seller. Upon checking the status of the item (to see if it had been re-listed) I noticed that my negative feedback had been wiped from the sellers profile.

Can someone explain to me why this might be the case? Isn't the feedback mechanism designed for exactly this purpose?

One thing that will get feedback removed is if the buyer says that eBay were involved and refunded them. There are others that can come into play such as profanities etc.

Thanks for the info, pretty sure I didn't use any profanities or mention a refund (I hadn't received it at that stage). I suspect it's tied to the case somehow though. It just doesn't seem logical to me that a seller can get away without honouring auctions and be immune to negative feedback.

I think that even mentioning a case/dispute can get feedback removed, and if a seller knows, they will contact eBay.
