I have purchased an item off a seller and in the payment listing seller has put payment option as 'PayPal' and that is the only option, however after I won the item seller sent me an email saying she was only accepting bank deposit as there are issues with her paypal account. I obviously know that I'm not obliged to pay as her listing is inaccurate but how do I prevent getting a strike against my name for non payment when it's not my fault in the first place as if bank deposit was the ONLY option of payment I never would've bid in the first place?
Don`t be fooled by what the seller has told you, Do Not pay by any other means, the listing offers paypal and that is how you would expect to pay,
Simply tell the seller you will not be paying by bank deposit, and happy to wait until they get their paypal account sorted.
If they still refuse, report them to ebay for discouraging safe payment and refusing paypal, then leave negative feedback to warn others.
To avoid her chances of opening a dispute, you could simply pay by paypal, and if she doesn`t send the item open a dispute for item not received and get your money back.
But come back for more advice after you get her response.
