Seller has sent wrong item who should pay for the return postage

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased an item from overseas, it arrived yesterday and it is not what i ordered, it is a different design and colour. and of no use to me.

I cannot resell it because it has a really bad smell to it.

I have contacted the seller who is abit agro. so i opened a Paypal dispute and he is telling me to send it back and he will give me the $50 back but not pay for the return postage of $25 which is the amount i paid to have it shipped to me.

I did suggest to the seller that he may like to pay for the item to be returned as it is not what i ordered but he has refused.

Not sure where to go from here, can anyone help please.

I haven't escalated this into a Paypal claim as not sure what this means or what happens
